The BYD Atto 1 is a compact electric city car with a floating-roof design, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and a BYD Blade Battery. Offered in Essential and Premium variants, it adds six airbags, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, giving city commuters and first-time EV buyers an easy-to-park electric small car with big-car technology.
Performance
The Atto 1 uses a front-wheel-drive electric motor, with the Premium delivering 115kW, a 9.1-second 0-100km/h time and a WLTP range of 310km, and the Essential delivering 65kW with a 220km WLTP range. A maximum AC charging rate of 11kW suits home charging. BYD's integrated roof spoiler adds to the aerodynamic profile, helping to improve efficiency and contribute to range.
Practicality
Clever packaging gives the compact Atto 1 a 308-litre boot that expands to 1,037 litres with the rear seats folded, enough for weekly shopping or weekend luggage. Its small footprint suits tight city streets and car parks, while V2L technology turns the car into a power bank for a coffee machine, lights or other devices on outdoor trips.

Twin digital screens combine a 10.1-inch infotainment display with a 7-inch driver display, supported by wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and 'Hi BYD' voice control. Keyless entry and start, an NFC card key, a one-touch tailgate and over-the-air updates add convenience. Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) is a tax employers pay on certain benefits, including novated leases. In most cases the cost of FBT is offset through your lease using post‑tax contributions (ECM). Eligible electric cars are exempt from FBT, making them even more cost‑effective.
The process starts with getting a personalised novated lease quote for a BYD ATTO 1 or other cars, including accessories, running costs and different lease terms. Once you’re happy with the package, it’s time to apply for finance.
