The BYD Seal is an all-electric premium sedan built around BYD's Blade Battery and Cell-to-Body structure. Offered in Essential, Premium and Performance variants, it pairs a long wheelbase and ocean-inspired styling with a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, a Dynaudio sound system and advanced driver-assistance technology, giving drivers who prefer a sedan an electric alternative to the SUV.
Performance
Power depends on the variant. The Essential delivers 150kW and 310Nm for a 7.6-second 0-100km/h time, the rear-wheel-drive Premium produces 230kW and 360Nm for 5.9 seconds, and the all-wheel-drive Performance offers 390kW and 670Nm for 3.8 seconds with a 520km WLTP range. The Premium uses Frequency Selective Damping, while the Performance adds DiSus-C adaptive damping for extra control and ride compliance.
Practicality
BYD describes the Seal as taking the strengths of a full-size sedan, with a long wheelbase that provides extended rear-seat legroom for family journeys. The cabin includes a centre console storage compartment, front and rear USB-C and USB-A ports, rear air vents with dual-zone climate control and rear privacy glass. Cell-to-Body technology integrates the Blade Battery into the vehicle structure to enhance strength and safety.
Features
A 15.6-inch intelligent rotating touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto alongside a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, two wireless phone charging pads and keyless entry with NFC card and BYD digital key. Safety technology includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, 360-degree cameras and traffic sign recognition. Genuine leather seating and a head-up display are limited to selected variants.

- FBT and ECM balancing or exemptions
Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) is a tax employers pay on certain benefits, including novated leases. In most cases the cost of FBT is offset through your lease using post‑tax contributions (ECM). Eligible electric cars are exempt from FBT, making them even more cost‑effective.
The process starts with getting a personalised novated lease quote for a BYD SEAL or other cars, including accessories, running costs and different lease terms. Once you’re happy with the package, it’s time to apply for finance.

Step 5. Settlement
After delivery, Smart manages all payments and running‑cost budgets for you.
At the end of your term, you can choose to:
- Pay the residual value owed and own the car.
- Refinance the residual and keep leasing.
- Upgrade to a new car.
