The BYD Sealion 7 is an all-electric mid-size SUV with a sloping roofline, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen and a BYD Blade Battery. Offered in Australia as the rear-wheel-drive Premium or the all-wheel-drive Performance, it adds vehicle-to-load power, 150kW DC fast charging and a long list of driver-assistance technology, giving families and commuters a well-equipped electric SUV to consider.
Performance
The Sealion 7 Premium delivers 230kW and 380Nm through its rear wheels, reaching 100km/h in 6.7 seconds with a WLTP range of 482km. The all-wheel-drive Performance lifts output to 390kW and 690Nm for a 4.5-second sprint and a 456km WLTP range. Intelligent Frequency Selective Damping shock absorbers help balance ride comfort with cornering control, and DC fast charging is supported at up to 150kW.
Practicality
Built for family life, the Sealion 7 provides a 500-litre rear trunk and a 58-litre front trunk, while its extended wheelbase adds rear-seat legroom. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology lets owners power appliances away from home, which suits camping and weekend trips. Front and rear USB ports, dual-zone climate control with rear vents and an electronic sunshade keep passengers comfortable on longer journeys.
Features
Safety technology includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, 360-degree cameras, lane departure warning, driver attention warning and traffic sign recognition. Inside, the 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a digital instrument display, wireless phone charging, a Dynaudio 12-speaker system, NFC card and digital key, and over-the-air updates. Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) is a tax employers pay on certain benefits, including novated leases. In most cases the cost of FBT is offset through your lease using post‑tax contributions (ECM). Eligible electric cars are exempt from FBT, making them even more cost‑effective.
The process starts with getting a personalised novated lease quote for a BYD SEALION 7 or other cars, including accessories, running costs and different lease terms. Once you’re happy with the package, it’s time to apply for finance.
