The Jaecoo J5 EV is a five-seat small electric SUV built for city driving and weekend adventures. It pairs a 58.9kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and 402km of WLTP range with a 13.2-inch touchscreen, seven airbags, V2L-ready practicality and pet-friendly synthetic leather seats. Backed by an eight-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, it gives commuters, couples and young families a well-equipped way to go electric.
Performance
The J5 EV uses a single front-mounted permanent magnet motor producing 155kW and 288Nm, with Eco, Normal and Sport drive modes and three levels of regenerative braking. Its WLTP range is 402km, suiting daily commuting and regional trips. DC fast charging reaches up to 130kW for a roughly 28-minute 30 to 80 per cent top-up, while AC charging supports 6.6kW single-phase and 10.3kW three-phase connections.
Practicality
Compact at 4,380mm long yet airy inside, the J5 EV offers 384 litres of luggage space up to the cargo cover and 480 litres up to the roof, plus 60:40 split-fold rear seats. Four cup holders, a front centre storage box and rear air vents add everyday convenience. It can tow up to 750kg unbraked or 1,250kg braked, and the pet-friendly, easy-clean seat material suits dog owners.

Standard equipment includes a 13.2-inch touchscreen with wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8.88-inch driver display, 'Hello Jaecoo' voice control and a 50W wireless charger. Novated lease tax benefits on a Smart™ lease are a combination of savings, including:

Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) is a tax employers pay on certain benefits, including novated leases. In most cases the cost of FBT is offset through your lease using post‑tax contributions (ECM). Eligible electric cars are exempt from FBT, making them even more cost‑effective.
The process starts with getting a personalised novated lease quote for a JAECOO J5 or other cars, including accessories, running costs and different lease terms. Once you’re happy with the package, it’s time to apply for finance.
