Frequently asked questions
Prices shown are based on standard assumptions. Your actual novated lease price will depend on your employer, salary, and personal circumstances. To get an accurate, personalised price, create an account. You’ll be able to see your estimated savings and compare your novated lease options before continuing.
This page defaults to a Morgan PLUS 8 , but all variants are available in our Novated Leasing Hub. Register for an account to get prices, choose variants, compare them and customise your novated lease quote.
Novated lease tax benefits on a Smart™ lease are a combination of savings, including:
- GST savings on the car price
- Pre‑tax salary deductions (reducing taxable income)
- GST savings on running costs
- FBT and ECM balancing or exemptions
Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) is a tax employers pay on certain benefits, including novated leases. In most cases the cost of FBT is offset through your lease using post‑tax contributions (ECM). Eligible electric cars are exempt from FBT, making them even more cost‑effective.
The process starts with getting a personalised novated lease quote for a Morgan PLUS 8 or other cars, including accessories, running costs and different lease terms. Once you’re happy with the package, it’s time to apply for finance.
Step 1. Get your price
Log in to get a quote on a car you personalise and build.
Step 2. Maximise your tax savings
Add running costs like fuel, tyres and maintenance to your novated lease. You can also explore other cars and compare your quotes.
Step 3. Apply for finance
You’ll then apply for finance online, with a typical turnaround of around 24 hours (subject to credit approval).
Step 4. Source car
After signing your contract, we’ll source your car at a great price through our 740‑strong dealer network, and set up your payroll deductions.
Step 5. Settlement
After delivery, Smart manages all payments and running‑cost budgets for you.
At the end of your term, you can choose to:
- Pay the residual value owed and own the car.
- Refinance the residual and keep leasing.
- Upgrade to a new car.
Smart can also help sell your car through Smart Sell™.
