The Tesla Model Y is a midsize electric SUV with a 5-star ANCAP safety rating and seating for up to five, or up to six in the larger Model Y L. It combines zero-tailpipe-emissions driving, Autopilot driver assistance and a large touchscreen-led cabin in a practical SUV body, making it a relevant option for families and daily commuters considering an electric vehicle.
Performance
Depending on variant, the Model Y is available with rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive. The Standard Range rear-wheel-drive model is rated at up to 466 km (WLTP) and reaches 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the Premium Long Range AWD is rated at up to 600 km and 4.3 seconds. The Model Y L Premium extends WLTP range to 681 km, and Supercharging peaks at 250 kW on the Premium Long Range.
Practicality
Family life is well catered for, with seating for up to five adults and a listed cargo volume of up to 2,138 litres in the five-seat versions. Premium variants add an 8-inch rear touchscreen, and at roughly 4.8 metres long the Model Y remains a manageable midsize SUV for city streets and car parks. Households needing more room can look to the Model Y L, which seats up to six adults and lists 2,539 litres of cargo volume.

Novated lease tax benefits on a Smart™ lease are a combination of savings, including:
- GST savings on the car price
- Pre‑tax salary deductions (reducing taxable income)

- FBT and ECM balancing or exemptions
Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) is a tax employers pay on certain benefits, including novated leases. In most cases the cost of FBT is offset through your lease using post‑tax contributions (ECM). Eligible electric cars are exempt from FBT, making them even more cost‑effective.
The process starts with getting a personalised novated lease quote for a Tesla Model Y or other cars, including accessories, running costs and different lease terms. Once you’re happy with the package, it’s time to apply for finance.

After delivery, Smart manages all payments and running‑cost budgets for you.
At the end of your term, you can choose to:
